You make me crazy when…
You suck me into your insipid little television show, and you make me CARE whether Deanna chooses Jesse or Jason! WHYYYYYYYYY?!

Overwhelming confusion
Do you feel like I feel on Monday mornings? I get inundated with emails from the weekend, the list of things I need to do this week, the crankiness from waking up at 5:15 am, and the overwhelming notion to pack it in, say I’m sick and go home. I can think better there. Actually, I can just watch TV better there, which helps me, uh, organize my thoughts…or something.
I left a stack of undone work on my desk when I left last week…and now that I’m back, 5 days later, I’m not quite sure where to start. We’re interviewing for the director’s position this week, which knocks out a good two days, and I’m behind on what I had planned to get done before the 4th. Who can prioritize when it’s all important? By the end of this week, I’m supposed to have written the first draft of my research paper, complete my introduction to Tony McNeill’s Chinese Lanterns from the Blue Child, and have to somehow figure out how to fit two days at the beach in with a visit from an SBC friend and another friend I haven’t seen in a while. I don’t know where to start, so I’m just not gonna.
In other news, I had a delightful conversation with a telemarketer from RAW Beauty this morning, and she assured me that they will not charge me $90 for a new shipment of disgusting mineral makeup I hated. That’s a good thing, considering I’m almost on foodstamps this week, and as much as I hate it, I feel like I need to teach this fall to cover my never-ending travel expenses. Of course, if I’d just stay home once in a while, I wouldn’t have those expenses, but I digress.
Also, I’m thrilled to announce (though I’m not sure I’m supposed to) that my friend Josie, who is getting married sometime this fall, has had her video submitted “to the network” at Mark Burnett Productions! This means that perhaps she’ll get the wedding of her dreams and have it made into a reality TV episode. That’s all I know about that, but I also know that she’s chosen the most magnificent place in New Orleans to get married, and I wish her wedding was tomorrow. Yay for you!
Finally, it’s now 2:30 in the afternoon, and I have still accomplished the same amount of work (nothing) as I had when I started this post this morning. Yay for me. To fill your afternoon slump, check out this itinerary for a weekend in Pittsburgh. Who knew it was such a hip retreat?

Jack Black
My friend Carrol sent this picture in to her electricities co-op this week. They’re having some kind of contest for customers’ favorite photos, and this one is hers. Her husband Brian is holding his new baby donkey, Jack Black. I so want a donkey now.
